Idle problem

I am having a little idle problem... erratic 750-900rpms. I have a 283 .040 over tq convertor is a tad over stock. I am running factory TBI injection with match porting. Headers that forot to use the EGR system!! Would a custom chip help this out? More timing? Total advance is 34 degrees. There is tons of power! Not lacking in this area at all. I just don't want to start taking wild stabs in the dark here!

You need chip work. You do not have the same displacment as stock nor does that motor use the same fuel and spark values of the 305.
