670 update...

well i have gotten just about everything ironed out..... i had to buy a new iac valve... also my 8.0 coil wire was bleeding out electricity bad!!! who knows for how long??? so i bought the accell 8.8's and man did that make a diffrence!!!
the rpms were studdering b4 and they are nice and smooth now. it has great throttle response and the only problem is the iac is still acting funny. it's not as bad as it was but it is still bad. i can come to a stop and it'll stay at 2 grand for about 4-5 secs then it drops to 1500 for about 5-10 seconds then it drops to just above 1,000 wtf... oh well at least its not getting stuck at 3500 like it was b4 its also not throwing any codes now so i still can't figure the iac thing out. the little booklet that came with the new one said it would do that until you drive 40 mph for a few minuets on the road and it would reset... i also tried putting in the aldl key thing and turning the acc on so the plunger will come out then unpluging the iac and it works fine... but when i plug it in it idles high???
is it ok to run with it unplugged for a while? it's not cold here so i figure it would be alright?

oh also ... i had my timing set at 6 or 8* i'll have to recheck to know for sure. any who....
i have been reading on the site here that you should set your base timing to 0*. now i am going to get the aldl cable built then learn to burn my own chips, but in the mean time with my mods and my fp set to 15 psi what timing do you think i should run with?
i didn't notice any knock but thats not to say its not there.

What unit did you get? the 502-5 or the 502-6? Also fp of 15 psi is probably too much.
You do not have the stock chip, so it is kinda hard to say where you need to set base timing to. Definetely get the aldl cable and get some data logging and start tuning. My guess is that many of your problems stem from a poor tune.
Also, you may want to keep the stock tbi in mind. you are running the performer rpm which has plenty of plenum, and an lt1 cam that is still reletively tame and the stock heads. You may have too much airflow between the 670 and the performer rpm, and the stock tbi with the ultimate mods done to it may actually work better w/ upped fp.
