I'm trying to get some parts together to start doing some performance work on my 305 tbi and I wanted to get some info on heads. Because right now I don't have a lot of money to buy some great heads I was planning on getting a set of used 305 tpi heads since they flow better than my tbi heads, but I saw at my local junkyard an early 80's trans am with the cross fire injection and I was just curious to know how good or bad these heads flow. So if anyone can help me that would be great because if they flow better than my tbi heads that a good enough reason for me.
and just so that you guys know I'm not looking for ***** to the wall performance, just a little more power on the street until I can afford somthing better, 170hp just dosen't cut it

 

I dont know how well they flow, but i wouldnt spend any money on them. Some late 80's TPI aluminum heads would be better.

 

what about the lg4 heads?

 

The LG4 heads (416's) along with the 305 TPI heads (081's) are pretty decent 305 heads.

 

those heads are the old style, and require and old style intake manifold, look for a set of LB9 heads from 87-92, if you don't want to change to much
