Fuel Economy after mods

Hey all,

I was wondering. Next year I plan on having my LT1 cam and either TPI heads or SR Torquer Heads installed. I plan on doing a chip tune and plan on replacing my throttle body with either a TBI from a 454 or a Holley 670 unit and ton's of tuning. What I was wondering was how will this affect my fuel economy?

Right now I am getting a nice 22mpg in town which is awesome in my mind. I am hoping that it doesn't drop too drastically.

With a good tune you should be able to knock down 20 to 25 mpg. With a bad tune you will get 3 to 5.

Can you imagine what the flames would look like if you did that old hot-rod trick with the spark plugs in the tailpipes running like that?!

Holy crap. 22 in town? That's awesome. I'm feeling elated with 25 on the highway!

About that 454 TBI unit... what are you gonna do with it? Sell it maybe?

That's another thing that's blowing my mind... 454 TBI unit getting 22 MPG. Holy fuel economy!

yes it is all about the tune. I have a cam larger than the LT1 and i still get 30mpg+ on the highway. if you are out of tune, your milage will really suck.
