454 TBI or not?

Ok, before you all kill my post with search first answers, I have done an extensive amount of reading with no writing.
I am in the process of swaping my old LO3 out for a new 383. I will keep my TBI setup for now, but would like input. My engine builder tells me I'll be knocking the door on 400hp. The trans and rear are all good and are not an issue.
Questions start now. Should I put 90# injectors or just switch the entire TBI out. I had previously installed 5.7 ltr injectors with an adjustable FPR in my LO3 TBI and hate to waiste the money. Will the FPR that I put on my old TBI support the 454 TBI? Is it really necessary to bore out the manifold ports to 2"? I will also change out the ESC and knock sensor and will get hold of TBICHIPS.com for the new chip, can ya'll think of any other mods that I should do before turning the key. Oh, the cam specs; 262 duration with a 464 lift.

You probably won't like what what I'm going to tell you.

The 90 lb injectors are going to be marginal for your HP level. Your going to need to run lots of FP probably near 30 psi, and even that is going to be cutting it close.

You have to get the 454 TB or you'll choke your engine.

I seriously doubt you can get a chip in "mail order" form that will do much more than get your car running down the road. You should really look into chip burning for yourself. You can get into it for ~100$. Granted it will take a while to get right, you will be much happier in the long run.

If you don't want or can't do all of the above, I'll let you know how to hook up a carb regulator to your stock fuel pump so you can run a carb.

I'm sure others will chime in.

454 TB is 670 cfm and that i believe is cfm's in TB terms. compare to a carb(cfm) it is less than 670. this has been discussed(argued) before. if i recall holley rates their 670 unit at max 275 HP. i would skip the 454 and go right to a holley 900 unless the 383 is mild. later holley 900's are sequential. that is very very nice. my 454 is now installed and by racing buddy engine builder says no way will that 454 feed my engine. keeps calling it a two barrell ! that kinda pisses me off.

My initial plan was to put the adjustable FMU from my old tbi on the 454 TBI and have a chip burned from tbichips just to get it running. I have made contact with a dynotuner out of town that will get it all set up for $450.00. I really would like to start burning chips myself, but couldn't even figure out how to get the aldl to work. Computers are not my friend. I will probaby move to the carb very soon but want to see how fast I can get a TBI unit down the track. So I guess the correct answer would be to buy the Holley 900 and the fuel issue should be solved.
