K & N open element...?

I have a 92 camaro (305 TBI 5spd) i recently put in a K&N filter but i have seen cars on cardomain that have the open element air filter housing. Anyone know where i can get one? I tried doing a search but i cant seem to get anywhere.

You should be able to get an open element air cleaner at ANY auto parts store (Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.) or performance catalog (Summit Racing, Jegs, etc.). They all carry 14"X3" open element air cleaners from various companies (Edelbrock, Mr. Gasket, etc.). Just look in the Accessories, Performance Parts, or Aftermarket section of the store. Even if they don't have any in stock at the moment, they should be able to order one, easily.

You are talking about these, right, just to clarify:

Ya the housing for the filter. Does this cause trouble for stock hoods? Should i get a different hood or just stick with the stock air filter housing.

Unless the filter is like five inches high, you'll be fine under the stock hood.

Well, sometimes a search isn't even necessary....check the top of the TBI board
