Worked LO3 heads VS. 081's
I am planning to do a head swap but i am having a hard time finding a set of 081 heads that im wanting to use. My question is, would i see the same results if i had my heads ported and polished?

No you won't. Your port worj will take you much much farther on an 081 head. See if you can find an 416 head. They came basically on every form of GM's 305 in the 80's. Look for Montes, caminos, LG4 cars. They offer the same potential and are more readily available.
depending on the intake you plan on using, the 416's might be difficult, but workable... they also require the old style valve covers, not the centerbolt style, so if you dont find a set already equipped, you'll have to buy those too
