4bbl accel tbi

anyone ever messed with the accel dfi 750cfm tb, it looks funky. 4 bbl tb, fuel rails mounted on the side of it, 4 multiport injectors hooked to the rails squirting back into the tb, not sure if fuel enters above or below the butterfly. its the 77135 system i think. supposed to be to pre-calibated for a 300hp 350, runs in closed loop, uses an accel dfi harness, but uses calmap software for tuning?.... my motor should be around 360-370hp at the crank, I have the short block together, not putting an intake on til I figure out the rest of my induction, this 4bbl tbi looked really odd, so it caught my eye.

I like it but there are cheaper alternatives for your horsepower range. Yes cool but effectively you've got 4 injectors where as a typical port injection would have 8. You would need injectors twice the size of a similarly powered 8 injectors setup.
I'm actually looking to aquire that accel TBI for a turbo project. 9th injectors, bah, try 12th injectors .

yeah the thing just looks weird as heck to me though, it's like the red headed step child of multi port and tbi - fugly lol. I've just been looking at all the aftermarket efi options, I just hate the idea of building a motor, and choking off 50-60hp cause of tbi and my lack of chip tuning ability. 12 injectors? are you thinking of putting that 4bbl on top of a 4bbl manifold setup for mpfi with 8 injectors lol? that's crazy. I like how edelbrock makes their relatively affordable multi port swap for vortec heads and then makes it calibrated for stock motors with stock cams. what do I want to put a $1100 aftermarket fuel injection on a stock motor with a stock cam for, and only get 265hp?

posting this link again, I think I need a whipple still lol.

Reply to my email to Edelbrock -

Brian,

We only suggest using our MPFI with a stock engine or with our MPFI Power Package which would be our E-Tec heads and the stock roller cam for a Vortec from GM. If you go to a larger cam but not more than about 210 to 212 @ .050 you can probably use our chip as a guide to make a chip for the larger cam. In many cases our customers want to do the same thing and we point them to one of four guys that can build them a chip. If you do this you will probably need larger injectors because the stock ones are only good up to about 310 to 320HP. If you buy the system and send in the unused 19lb/hr injectors and a check for $40.00 we will send you our 29lb/hr injectors to support more HP.

This is for #3506 since I have vortec heads, same as #3505, their TBI mpfi conversion. I thought I read somewhere on here that this system wasn't tunable? What hp range do 29lb'ers support?
