I need some help in resolving some error codes that cropped up since and engine swap
Codes are as follows 12,23,32,33,34,44 and 54
lol i have experience working on cars but im fond of older vehicles(78 camaro LT and 75 Blazer)
not much experience working on fuel injected vehicles,
the only mod i made to any of the systems on the car was "Ghosting" the smog system to pass visual inspections. the inspection shops around here just recently started doing smog tests but not on cars older then 95 they only plug in older cars im trying to resolve these issues to see if i can make this a streetable car for my Girlfriend (car was bought as a gift) if its gonna cost more then the car to remedy the problems then the car will be Racetrack bound. BTW the car cost me 600 bucks. ANY help would be apreciated. Thanks

 

Reset the ecm by pulling the neg. batt. cable for a few mins and see which codes come back up after running the car.

we almost have the same cars i ripped the 5.0 out and dropped a slightly older 5.7 into it and swapped the heads and intake the tranny was recently rebuilt by a pro and catchs second gear with a decent chirp, thats why i replaced the 5.0, the guy who owned it before flew cyl. 1 and 2 and cracked the block from deck to deck (thinking of selling the car soon) the body is in pretty fair shape some surface rust no rot and i was suprised at how well the floor boards are holding up, the guy i bought the car included a newer iroc disk rear end, and yes its the holden rear, needs discs, calipers and bearings to finish rebuilding,
Anyone interested im looking to get 800 out of the car, will update if pulling the neg terminal works

 

Disconnecting the neg terminal got rid of all but one error code, Code 12, the GM ECM diagnostic code sheet says 12 is diagnostic mode / ECM functioning No distributor pulses, i searched the forum and still couldnt dig up info on fixing this, plus I have to add one thing I forgot to mention, When I start the car she idles rough for about 10 seconds then smoothes out, no clue what that could be, I think i may get some new plug wires and plugs allong with a new O2 sensor to help tune it up. Still clueless when it comes to factory fuel injection systems LOL

 

Code 12 is good. You will always get a code 12 when you start the car it's to show everything is working properly.

 

ok, i went and rechecked the codes and i guess i didnt wait long enough cuz it flashed code 33 at me, lol now how do i fix this? sorry if i seem demanding, im just getting sick of this thing LoL

 

Low MAP IIRC. Check the connection to teh MAP sensor.
