Would This Wake Her UP?

I'm planning to do a few bolt on's this summer but nothing major to the engine because next winter me and my brother are doin a 383 engine swap. Here's what i have planned

1.Elderbrock performer intake manifold
2.High Flow Throttle Body w/ injectors
3.Hooker LT with true dual 2 1/2" from dynamax
4.4th gen rear end
5.open element air cleaner
6.ac delete
7.maybe small shot of nitrous

that's what i was thinking, most of it i can use with the new motor i'm going to get in winter. Is there anything else that might wake it up but still be usable on my next motor...

what do you guys think......

Weclome aboard!

Your plan looks fine but I would hold off on the high flow TBI unit. The stocker is more than enough for the mods you have planned and even mild cam swaps don't require a larger TBI unit.

ok good that will save me a few bones. But I was told that the tbi throttle body really muffles the tone of the exhaust. When i rev my car it has a really annoying wine and you can't even hear the engine.

My buddy's 305 tpi has a nice tone minus the wine and my bro told me the the tbi throttle body was the culprit.

any help would be appreciated....

i've also heard the wine could possibly be the transmission or powersteering.

any suggestion on how to get rid of it

The TBI unit is not the culprit. Removing the stock air cleaner housing in favor of an open element air cleaner removes the built in silencer/accoustic damper which will quiet injector and induction noises caused by the unit. However, the stock exhaust chokes these cars and prevents them from making any noise. A cat-back system alone will drastically improve the sound of your car. It really has nothing to do with te TBI unit other than what I already described and more so with the exhaust. These cars have many bottle necks and the first one that needs to go is the entire exhaust from motor to tail pipe.

EDIT: If the whine is that bad I would consider a bad front accessory or a drivetrain problem.

my car was whinning like no tomorrow, (told my friend i threw a sc in lol), it was my alternator.

Unless you're getting a 4th gen rear from the 97-02 SS camaros there is no difference between the 3'rd and 4th gen rears IIRC. besides you'll need wheel spacers.

im getting zr1's also so i won't need spacers for the back once i get the new rear end in. I will still need two adapter plates for the front tho.

I have flowmaster 80 series catback exhaust but it is very quiet. I'm not really concerned about the exhaust right now. I just want to get rid of the whinning noise. I guesse i will look at my accesories
