replacing TBI intake manafold
Now that ive just got a replacement intake manafold its time to change it but before i do i wanna check that i do it right.
ive got the TBI's off now, and now its time for the distributor i have never took one of these out before, so do i just pull the thing out or is there some special way of doing it??
if any ones got any tips or pics on what has to be done i would be greatful

also, make sure you note where the rotor is pointing before taking it out, and where it rotated to when removing it. This is to ensure that you reinstall the distributor correctly, if not you are going ot have to do alot more work.

If you can make see if you can drain the coolant from the block. You will sill far less coolant into the lifter valley when you take the intake off. A good razor gasket sraper will be your best friend. You need to make sure the mating surfaces are perfectly clean. You can also use a thin line of RTV around the coolant ports to help them seal better. I put my intake gaskets on dry (except on the china walls) and don't have any issues. Make sure to use a bit of thread sealer on the bolts so that oil won't seep out and dirty your manifold.
