I need more fuel pressure
I need more fuel pressure
I've modified my TBI Fuel Pressure Regulator using these instructions. https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/tbi-afpr.shtml I've got it adjusted as far down (spring compressed) as much as possible.
I've installed a WALBRO 190 lph in-tank fuel pump.
I've installed a fuel pressure gauge using this adapter. http://www.cfm-tech.com/catalog/gm_t...5_products.htm
I'm getting around 14 psi of fuel pressure. When I hit the throttle I can see it drop about a pound. I'm looking for around 18 psi.
Has anyone else tried this combination? I've heard you can put a washer below the spring in the fuel pressure regulator to get a little more pressure. I've also heard you can get a stiffer spring. I'm looking for the easiest solution here. What do you guys recommend?

You shouldn't drop pressure at all when you go WOT, that makes me wonder about the condition of that pump.
As for the pressure, I would go with a stiffer spring it it was me. Do you datalog show you still need more FP? I would only up the FP further if you show your DC is too high. For idle quality, I would try to run the lowest FP you can, and still have it fuel up high.

The pump is only a year old. I can't believe it wouldn't be pumping like its supposed to. I'm 100% sure the pressure does drop with I hit the throttle though.
I can datalog using Datamaster. Which field is the DC you're referring to?

DC is not a logged field. To figure it out, you need to modify the aldl stream to output the PW, you need to calculate the dutycycle off of that.
Do you current logs show that you are going lean?

PW = pulse width... aka, the ammount of time the injector is open.
DC = duty cycle, this is the percentage of the available time for the injector to fire, that it is using.
Basicly what the information that would help you is. Is wether you can make the injectors open longer, and leave you fuel pressure where it is, or if you need to up the fuel pressure.
Just out of curiosity, what are your o2 values at WOT?
