Aluminum or phenolic spacer ?

Got a choice between:

and

Clearance is NOT an issue ... I mainly would prefer to get all the parts BEFORE I decide how big the air scoop will be on my "new" hood

Between those 2, I'd go with the Turbocity one. Those plastic-based spacers will help keep the TBI unit somewhat cooler than an aluminum one would, but not by too much.

Clearance might actually still be an issue. You don't just need clearance for the air cleaner, you also need to make sure your stock cables will reach with certain spacers. Pretty much any spacer over 1/2" will almost always cause some serious issues, mainly with the throttle valve (TV) cable for the transmission.

I have run my turbo city phenolic spacer for years and it has held up great. I have zero evidence to claim its worth. I hope to one day though. I feel there are better ways to drop $60. I had trouble getting my linkage to reach with the 1/2 spacer. I also don't have a TV cable to worry about. They are a hassle IMHO.
