Curiosity about the 454....

Curiosity about the 454....

I have done searches and couldn't find any numbers on what the stock 454 TBI. Such as horsepower, torque, what is the gas mileage in a f-body(I imagine it is bad.)

This is just to solve some question I had on this motor.

90, 230 hp, 385 ft/lb torque

91-93, 255 hp, 405 ft/lb torque

If those power numbers seem low, remember that the rpm for peak power was an absurdly low 3600 rpm, and the peak torque numbers occured at 1600-2000 rpm, IIRC. Nothing about the 454 L19 engine was for power ---- it was all about low rpm torque.

does seem rather low, but i have always wonder about these engines.
