throttle cable??

throttle cable??
i just got done putting one of those helix tbi spacers on my car and know im having a problem with the throttle cable...not the tv cable, but the one that goes from the gas pedal to the T.B.I. its about a hair too short and there has to be a way to adjust this cable. if anyone knows a way do adjust the cable or has any other ideas that could help please post...thank you.

The cable is non-adjustable. You could spice another section in, which is kinda ghetto. You can also get an end off of an old cruise control unit and use that, but its a real PITA to recrimp it. The other option is to try one of the aftermarkets. I used the internals from one of the lokar aftermarket cables when I needed a different cable. IIRC, it was one of the high tech cables with a fully adjustable end and a ball-joint mount for the throttle shaft. They may also have a replacement for GM cables as well.
The last thing is that you could just get rid of the spacer. This can also throw off the geometry for the TV cable, which could adversly effect the line pressure. The spacer wont do all that much, anyhow.

I don't care for the TBI spacers (they don't do anything) but I will offer this advice for getting your cables to work. You can raise the throttle cable bracket using spacers (or a stack washers) and longer mounting bolts. Should get everything lined up again.
