Still having idle problems after t56 install

After getting everything installed, tried running the car and it ran like crap. Would die unless I kept my foot on the gas (in gear or in neutral) and one time it back fired up the intake. I checked and rechecked the firing order...thats good...what else could be causing my problems?

Did you pull the distributor? Sounds like your timing is way off.

Maybe pinched a wire putting the bellhousing to the block?

I dont remember pulling the distributor for any reason....but now that I think about it...i THINK one of the wires that leads to the ignition module was either frayed or loose..or the connector was broken...cant remember what it was...or if it was even on my car...I'll take a look...would that cause those symptoms?

ok did a quick look, the external wires to the ignition module are fine....but I do seem to remember there being issues with the wires inside the cap that connect to the ignition module....I'll take the cap off later today and check it out. But again...would a problem here cause these timing issues or would it just not run?

It sounds like you have serious timing and or ignition problems. I would check out every wire and double check the base timing. it sounds like something got bumped.
