Appears to be from a Chevy 350 in a Volvo Penta marine application.

Apparently that is the computer on the front of the TBI. I think the fins help it dissapate heat.
anyone know what the system is they are using in newer marine applications? i would guess TPI? i bought a new boat V6 with carb last year. the increased cost to go EFI was like $1500 and gave 10 HP more. seems TBI would work OK in marine applications as power is linear with no shifting.MAYBE i could learn to tune that

GM was selling TBI systems to Mercury Marine at least as of a few years ago; do a search for MEFI and you'll find the threads (that involved dual TBI !). Now that they use Vortec engines, I think they've gone to CFI (central poppet-style FI) and gotten away from selling any new TBI (v6 and v8) engines.
I can't tell from the pix in the link if the intake manifold is a special high-rise for TBI, or, a high-rise carb manifold + TBI_adaptor + TBI. Probably carb manifold + adaptor.
The ECM case looks similar to the finned PCM weatherpak housing GM used on my old 94 LT1 Caprice... and I suppose air movement around the engine would help cool to the case. Still, why subject it to engine vibration if you don't have to. Interesting find.
