Located "vacuum leak"

No.. it's not a real vacuum leak after all

I couldn't decide whether the sound came from the throttle body ... or from the forward part of the intake manifold .. so I got pissed as a *********blip**blip**censored**** and threw a towel over the throttlebody ... well well.... sound got muffled

Because I looked at the fuel squirting from the injectors and went like.. what the hell .... if I want a dragrace car I'll build one ... but I'd like nice idle lol

So... something's feeding more fuel... hmmm hmmm I once again removed the IAC... cleaned it... oiled it

Now my next step will be replacing the CTS ... after that.. I MAY have to replace the IAC .... mine MAY... be shot.. but it may also be the connector to it that's shot.. since the locking tab on the electrical connector broke off

Would a faulty CTS also make the engine heat up a lot faster ????

A faulty CTS can cause all kinds of problems. If any part of it is broken or not working I would fix that right away.

Nope

Didn't fix the problem.. but.. still time to replace it ... I barely got it off and the damn thing broke

Anyway.... I started the engine... let it run... reached for the TPS wires... unplugged them ... engine dropped down in rpm.. however.. whe nI plugged them back in... the rpm went up again.... then unplugged they dropped but not as much as before

Would the ECM remember something like hmmmm shall we say. .a rough estimation of the TPS last signal ?

Unplugging things and then plugging them back in isn't going to solve anything. Your motor will react when any component of its closed loop feedback system is distrupted. I would double check the IAC adjustments that Dimented outlines in the above stickies and I would spend some time with a volt/ohm meter and a repair manual. Are all the ports on the TBI hooked up to thier proper vacuum source? If not are the ones not being used capped?

Corrects

All are connected.

OK, now what should the wires to the IAC and the TPS read ?

I got a multimeter now, so that would probably be my next step, since I don't like the idea of buying a new IAC for no reason
