No start, no fuel, no spark... very detailed.

1992 305 TBI RS

It has been randomly not starting and dying while i am driving for the last week or so. Today it finally died for good and wont start again. It will crank without issue, just no start.

The injectors are not firing, nor being told to fire. Checked with noid light.

The fuel pump is not turning on (listened for it, also checked for voltage at relay while keying on)

No spark. Jumpered coil wire to distributor coil terminal.

Replaced entire distributor. Including NEW PICKUP COIL, and NEW ICM. Didnt test the new coil, but old coil had 850ohms accross it, no shorts to ground, and had A/C voltage when spun. I assumed the new coil and ICM are working as they are new.

Replaced ECM with NEW ECM, used old prom chip.

Checked all wiring from distributor to ECM. Read 0 ohms resistance. Wires from coil to distributor are good.

Coil continuity tests are good, no shorts.

ECM to ground connections are good.

ECM recieves 12.4v ignition on

ECM has 12.4v of battery full time.

Im so lost. ????????? Any ideas at all?

Add one to the list of odd *** things.

A bad ignition coil can cause no fuel and no spark even though it ohm tests ok. Shrug. Starts now

Thanks but we got it. Read above. Ignition coil that ohm checked ok was actually not carrying ign voltage through it.

Either way, it caused no spark and fuel, as soon as we jumpered the wires it gased and sparked. No idea how that works and i have the wiring diagrams in front of me.

so how did you fix the problem, i have the no spark issue on my 82 z28, always starts cold, then randomly when im driving i let it idle and it dies and wont start...really frustrating, i just changed the coil, cap, and rotor and its no better. what did you do to jump the ignition? thanks in advance.
