454 TBI question

I drive a 90 chevy blazer with a 350 TBI engine, I have access to a 454 TBI, if I was to swap it on to my engine but use the 350 injectors, would the added air flow give me more power ?, I have a good high flow exhaust, im just trying to improve the intake side. I ask this question here because this is the best TBI forum that ive found, and even though drive a blazer the engines in our vehicles are about the same.

Would probably not make much more HP than a stock TBI. I made 279 RWHP with the ultimate TBI mods and the factory intake.

The 454 TBI can be made to work but it presents several problems that end up a headache. Ask me how I know.

A.) The IAC wiring is different and the TPS connector is potentially different.

B.) The throttle plates will not clear the stock intake, requiring you buy a 1" spacer and grind the opening for clearance, or pull the intake and do the same.

C.) The 454 TBI lacks a TV cable connection point. The way around this is the Bowtie TV made Easy system for the 454 TBI.

D.) You will want some more fuel flow to complement the added air flow.

E.) Custom tuning will be needed as well.

Given the problems what I am about to say might make more sense.

Research the ultimate TBI mods. Perform them and you will have plenty of airflow for a pretty tough 350. Buy you an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and tweak the fuel flow. Then buy a Moates Burn 1, Moates G1 Adapter, C256 chips, and start tuning.

Your right, I wasn`t thinking about the IAC wiring or the TV cable connection, oh well it was just an idea. I do have an adjustable fuel presure regulator on the throttle body now, I made a stock regulator adjustable and turned the presure up a little, I still need to get a fuel presure gauge though so I now were im at. I have also removed the lip around the top of the throttle body and added a spacer under the injector pod to raise it up for more air flow. I also have one of thoses bowl shaped things (can`t think of the name) that replaces the spacer under the air cleaner for better air flow around the injectors.

Thanks.
