Is it the fuel pump

Hey guys I recently have no fuel spraying thru the injectors so I checked the injectors with noid light. I hear the fuel pump come on and stop so I checked for fuel pressure with my new 50 dollar gauge and got nothing. My question is, does the fuel pump relay turn the pump off after two seconds of time, or when it builds up a set pressure then it shuts it off. My dad knows everything about cars before 1980 came. He thinks everytime something goes wrong with a new car that it is a sensor or something so we are just arguing on how to fix my car. I think its my fuel pump, it does run but no fuel will come thru the line, changed filter and yes it has gas in the tank. Fuses are all good. So basically Im asking this, Is a fuel pump bad even though it still runs.

Fuel pumps usually fail all the way. When you are suspecting fuel pump its probably a component of it that is bad. My experience and from what am told is that when pumps fail they fail. however, if they are bad, they will run your car but in a crappier manner.

Did you check the fuse thats next to the battery by the wheel well???
Did you check your relay???
Replace injectors and see what happens.

If you need some injectors I have two for a 305 TBI, so let me know if you need it or not.
Good luck.

doubt it is the injectors because no fuel will even reah the throttle body. It has zero fuel pressure. But if you take off the FP relay and cross a wire over the two connectors it will run the pump continously and no fuel comes out of the line. It just runs and runs but nothing. I checked all fuses also

Could also be a plugged fuel filter. Might want to try removing feed line to filter and jumping relay.

It does sound like the fuel pump is dead to me as well. I doubt the filter would be so clogged that it wouldn't let any amount of fuel past.
