well in the prev post i bumbed saying that my car wont start with out me pushing the gas , i replaced a fuse and it worked better for about 2 days , now its back to its old self , cant get enough fule to pump , i can do work on my own car but hardly have the time any more ,i so far replaced TBS (throttle body sensor) map sensor and temp sensor , and no dice the injectors are not getting enough gas into the carbs i had them cleaned and it worked a little better still takes 2 or 3 turns of the key to get it to light , so i am gonna replace my fulepump and filters , was wondering if any one thinks its the fuel pump or not before i go shelling out more cash for my car (my first car btw i worked on more then 10 types of cars tho and never had this much of a prob)

 

check your fuel pressure before replacing the pump, it's a major pain in the *** to swap the pump, and you dont want to do it if you dont have to

 

What is your feed line fuel pressure? Can you hear the pump prime when you turn the ignition on with the motor off? I wouldn't start replacing stuff until you do a little investigating. There aren't many sensors on these cars that are prone to failuer. Even when they do your car will typically still run.

Replacing a fuel pump isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. You only need simple hand tools, jack stands, jack and a few hours of your time.
