Does anyone know what the stock 305(LO3)runs in the 1/4mile.

I suggest getting 3.73 gears. It'll make your car take off

Get headers/ exhaust and you will notice a huge diff.

Check out the exhaust board stickies for that. There is tons of reading to do. Most people prefer and recomend the Hooker 2055's, SLP's or Mac's. Catback choices are up to you.

My friend went from a 15.3 to a 14.6 in his 88 mustang GT. Granted his motor is all topend and LO3's are all bottom end. You'll see 3-6 tenths reduction. You'll loose a bit of gas milage though, my other friend with an LO3 got 25 mpg with 3.42's so you can expect that or slightly less.
