we have a 1/8 mile track near my house and i went there last night for test and tune with my tired 92 RS T-5(190,000 miles)...I raced a 2001 mustang GT and waxed him...my car is stock w/o smog and i have an open element on it...i was shocked so was he..he asked what i had and i told him.he was embarassed in front of his friends...after that my clutch was slipping real bad so i had to quit running but he was amazed that a 305 with a tbi on it beat him...oh i almost forgot I turned the fuel pressure down to save gas a few weeks ago too thanks for your time, i just need to share that with a few fellow third geners...

lower fuel pressure = leaner if im not mistaken. leaner = more power... providing you can keep it from detonating.

Congrats on your victory.

Your lowered fuel pressure just equals lowered fuel pressure... your ecm made up for it and you just wasted your time unfortunately.

If you want to save gas buy a *****!

oh sorry lol, I just get offended easily when people trash talk the TBI....its a strong motor and people degrade it too much.......

By the end of the year, I'll be able to take on stock Z28s TPIs and possibly whomp on them...or atleast keep up with them. I am gonna build my engine..

I love my TBI

yes it is a strong motor, but the TPI version of the same motor runs stronger, and is every bit as relaible.

wouldnt it be nice to beat them by doing the same amount of work, starting with a stronger running base to begin with? i know i'd be a little embarassed to just run with stock cars when mine had work done to it. cant play the milage card either, because TPIs pull down some very respectable milage.

You got lucky my man. These cars based 170hp and 255tq at the crank, nowhere near the wheels. If that was you baseline (stock) dyno, that kicks butt!!
