TBI 305 to 350

I was shown this forum, and it seems pretty informative.. thought i'd try it out.. i have an 87 k5 blazer with a 305 tbi.. i am upgrading to a 350 that has a carb on it. What will i need to swap over to a 350? injectors, computer chip and knock sensor? where can i buy all of these? i've had a hard time finding stuff off of ebay. thanks for any help!

Assuming you are dropping in a mild or stock LO5 (350TBI) you will need a 350 knock sensor, injectors, ESC module, wire harness, ECM, PROM and sensors. If your new 350 will have any serious mods than you will have to burn a new chip for it. A stock type LO5 can run on a carpice 350 or truck 350 PROM depending on which TBI ecm you use. The trucks and cars used different ECM's and the PROMs between them are non-compatable.

Shifty-- I have a 87 L98 short block. My dad wants to put it in an 89 RS he bought and put the RS 305 TBI system on top. Would a Caprice LO5 ECM and PROM be ok for it along with the correct sensors as long as he runs stock internals? Or should we find a truck ECM??

Some caprice cars came with the L98 cam and the 193 heads found on those LO5's didn't flow much differently than the 083's found on the L98. Therefore, both shotblocks are nearly identical. You only need the caprice LO5 prom because it is compatible with your stock ECM. In addition you will need an LO5 knock sensor, ESC module, and 350 injectors. Since you are using the stock LO5 PROM it is best to use to the same size injectors as the PROM donor car. Some LO5's had different injectors based on what they were used for (police package). That way they are dialed in properly.
