Was the 87 Iroc engine a TPI engine swapped into a TBI car underneath a stock TBI system?

If so it will run poorly.

I would suggest hooking a vacuum gauge to your engine and starting there. Low manifold vacuum can set an intermitent code 33. For example lets say your engine drops down to less than 10 in/hg of vacuum with the engine idling in gear at a light, the check engine light will glow due to a code 33, now you start off and get to cruising speed. The throttle is open more, the TPS reading is higher, and finally the MAP reading is lower, now the parameters are no longer met for the code 33 and the light goes out.

Yes. it needs to be tuned.
But it has never ran this bad before. I get the code 33, but i dont think its just that. Why when i turn sometimes or am just driving along will it all of a sudden bog down really harshly?
Someone suggested checking the fuel regulator

also, the SES light is not intermittent. Its permanatly on.
