Dirty Injectors? or best TBI mod?
I raised my Injectors 1/2 inch today! an boy, seems to be a HUGE Diffrence!
Alright, They spray is like a upsidedown cone, Is this correct? I dont remember seeing them like that..
Heres what i did today,
You cannot Raise the injectors anymore than 1/2 inch.. you guys now the pieces you grind off for more "CFM" well if you ground that off, you cannot raise your injectors very much, because the of the Upside down cone fuel spray, on mine, the spray is 98% in the barrels, there was a little bit of gas in the area where your main bolts are to hold the TBI to the intake.. i rev it up and the RPM Needle is gone and then you see it up by 5500 Rpm, and that was only up to half throttle, and quite a bit of body flex! I was watching the fuel spray, and some of the spray hits the thottle body walls, and some hits the butterfly, Now i wonder what it will do at WOT on the strip..
This took me an hour, and i am not a certified mechanic, I am 18 in 19 days. and have basic tools, anyone can do it, I tried to make a 1/2 gasket, using the old gasket as a pattern, and i gotta say Good Luck! It doesnt work very well.. So i made 3 blocks that tuck in under the Injector pod quite well, marked where to drill a hole for best fit in my 1/2 plastic block, and it works great, of course you will need longer screws!
I got pictures but, ive got Dial-up and it takes awhile to uploaded.. i'll get some up soon enough..
