Axle/Gears: 14 bolt with 3.07 gears
Rebuilt to stock 1984 suburban LE9 305 (180 FWHP) converted to use a 305 TBI setup on a Holley Projection manifold. Stock 5 1/2" truck air filter assembly with a K&N replacement filter. Stock sized exhaust, stock cast iron manifolds, with a high flow replacement cat, and replacement high flow/quiet muffler. This is through a 700r4/12-bolt with 3.08 gears combo. All numbers are uncorrected on a Mustang Dyno.

Stock 1992 305 Van ECM (299 AWHD BIN)
RWHP = 164.7 @ 3,850
RWTQ = 266.8 @ 2,275

Stock 1992 9C1 Caprice L03 ECM (8746 AXKS BIN)
RWHP = 152.9 @ 3,790
RWTQ = 261.7 @ 2,180

Custom Chip by ME (based on 7747 AFDY 305/700R4 VAN)
RWHP = 181.7 @ 4,900
RWTQ = 268.9 @ 2,460

The pulls were made back to back. It was driven on the dyno VERY heat soaked on a 100* Humid august afternoon, strapped down, and the first pull was made. The ECM was swapped to the Caprice and run again. The ECM was swapped on more time for a chip that I had been working on and the 3rd pull was made. The fuel injection setup/original ECM was sourced from the Caprice, so see the difference. My buddy had problems with a lack of power/throttle response/pinging with the originol setup. He then swapped it to a truck computer (Van) but it still did not please him. That is when I stepped in and tuned it. Not bad to make the engines original NET HP rating at the wheels.

Keep in mind that the old carbed truck 305s are setup different than the TBI engines. They used a hydraulic flat tappet cam sourced from the same year 350, non-swirl port 601 heads (1.84/1.50" valves, 53cc chamber), flattop pistons, and a decent factory exhaust. The calibration had the potential to be pretty far off when used with either stock ECM. The fuel pressure had been bumped to 14 psi/timing to 6* BTDC, before I ever layed my hands on it.
