Accel 74219 in a TBI

Well as the title says, I've put this cam in my HOT 355 and now I need to get it tuned. The cam specs can be found here

Re:Camshaft - Central Valley Speed (For Central CA auto enthusiasts)

The rest of the combo is a fully preped roller block, Trick Flow 195 CNC heads, 10.1 compression, .045 quench, 1.5 roller rockers, 46mm T-body, AFPR, etc.. The engine starts and idles well, but it's very rich with black smoke during the cold start. Then once it goes closed loop it seems to go way lean at idle!

I have everthing to burn my own chips, I just need a hand on what, where and when to edit the .bin. I also have a wideband O2 to log with as soon as I get my dayum ALDL cable working.

Has anyone here ever tuned that cam for a TBI? Do you guy's think it'll be ok?

Thanks

Kelvin

I have tuned a very similar cam in a 305. Took a little work, but it ran GREAT after I got it dialed in. The power came in around 1,800 and pulled hard until over 6,000 RPM. It took alot of fuel though. 68 lb/hr injectors at 26 PSI, then 61 lb/hr at 35 PSI for 90% DC @ 6,500 RPM. Since it sounds like it is running and driving, you have a fairly easy learning curve ahead of you. My 305 would not even start with the big cam, I had to rough out a VE table just to start it.

So the 61#'s with high pressure was the ticket? My engine idles nicely even at the low 525rpm of the factory chip. I did install a little looser converter so that maybe helping a bit.

What do you make of it going so lean at idle CL? Would you say it's normal at this point till I get it tuned? One of the online tuners susgested I go with 75# in's hmmm... sounds kinda big to me though.
