Got My Car Back Today!!!!!!

Headers (Edelbrock) and 3.73 gear (Motive) w/ eaton limited slip were installed!
It made a HUGE difference!!!!
With the upgrades I have done already this is the icing on the cake.
My past mods were;
Eibach lower springs
Spohn front and rear sway bar
Spohn LCA
Spohn panhard rod
Poly bushings from front to back
3" no cat exaust w/flowmaster
Rebuilt 700r4 with all the goodies
160 thermostat w/cool fan switch

The motor is bone stock (305 tbi) and I gotta tell you it is very impressive for what it is.
I reccomend to all 305 TBI owners to do the upgrades listed above before any engine work.
The 3.73 is awesome, 0-60 is super quick.
On the interstate going 65 mph rpm's are at 2300 and getting to 100mph is like 2nd nature

Nicely done Raider. It's nice to hear some stock motor news (because that's where I'm at)...now for the EBL! BTW, what was your original gear ratio?

You should be able to get it changed out at any speedometer or quality tranny shop.

Just change your speedometer gears, 84-85 camaros with 4 cylinders had 3.73's and so did the 1984 ho z-28. so just spend the 11 dallars at the dealer.

Any transmission shop should be able to do this for you for about $50. It would be even better if you had a speedometer specialist shop in the area to confirm the speed.

Raider fan,

I did the same mod to my car but went with the 3.42's. I also had the electronic correction device installed. I would never do that again. I wish I had gone with the speedo gear change. Anyway, you need to replace the driven and drive gear. With the 3.42 it was a 15 tooth grey and a 41 tooth yellow. I'm not sure what it will be with the 3.73's.

Do a search on the tranny board. I think Trickster had a post about which speedo gears to get with the different rear ends. It's a very old post though.

Bill
