How complex is TBI?
I've always used TPI or some form of fuel injection, and I'm looking for a budget buildup on an old camaro that has no wiring at all. TPI is too much wiring than what I want to do so I'm thinking I should go carb. However, TBI seemed like it may be a fair compromise. Could anyone familiar with the different forms give me a rough idea of how much more work TBI is than a carbed engine?

TBI is not much worse then a carb. It still uses a carb aircleaner, and can also use a carb manifold. Need an adaptor plate to mount the GM 2bbl TBI's to one, but the 4bbl TBI units (Holley) bolt right up.
There is a still some wiring to run: CTS, IAT (not required but recommended), TPS, IAC, a couple of wires for the injectors. Then the electronic distributor wires. Not much else.
When I first started with TBI I converted from a carb. I actually set up the electronic distributor and ECM controlled it for a while. Using a carb at the same time. Then dropped in the fuel system and the TBI. Never looked back.
