No start issue HELP needed--Code 54

Hello all,

This all started with simply trying to get my cooling fan working correctly.

I started to replace what I thought was the fan relay and now it seems I may have monkeyed with the fuel pump relay, there is 2 on the drivers side and I went after the first one I saw.

Anyways now I have a no start issue, which I am assuming is due to the fuel pump, but I don't know how to diagnose this problem, any help would be appreciated, from the galacticily stupid.

Truth be told your car should still run you just need to crank it longer, a oil pressure sensor of some sort is wired inline with that fuel pump so that if you lose oil pressure it turns the fuel pump off (probably like an anticrash and burn valve as i like to call them). anyways what that means is crank the engine about 10 times or so and when it develops enough oil pressure it will kick on the pump (my relay went out on me and i had to diagnose it).

If i remember correctly the fuel pump relay is the closest to the fender of the 2 relays, an easy check to make it work is swap the relays, if the fuel pump relay is bad and fan relay is good then you should be able to swap them and have a good working fuel pump relay just to test with. If neither work just run a jumper wire across the relay to get it to work.

flaming-ford--Thanks for the advice, I have tried way more than 10 times to crank it over and have watched my oil pressure gauge rise up to the top while cranking.

As far as jumping the pins I am not sure which pins to jump on either of the relays. Also, when I turn the key to the on position I do hear an clicking noise in the rear of the car, but I don't know if it is actually turning the pump on.

Thanks again for the help,

when you turn the key on you should here the pump come on and hum for about 3to5 sec. the clicking may be a relay you are hearing but I cant recall any relays in the back.
