TBI somewhat newbie

my pops just went out and bought another 92' RS...we have another one that was totaled in a wreck..so he just drove home with his new one he picked up in missouri and this one we dont plan on keeping stock. so my question is what kind of mph and et's is a tbi motor capable of with full bolt-ons? ...btw the car is an auto.

Define bolt ons? Really, upper 14's are about the best you are going to do, without changing cams in these cars. Give it a 100shot of the nitrous, and you can get get some pretty good times.

I did go 15.1@86 mph with exaust, 3.42/posi and lots of tuning.

With the cam, and stock heads, I went low 14.1 @ 96
With nitrous, and the cam, I went low 13.3 @ 106
I've now added heads, and hopeing for 12's @ 108 or 109

All of this was done on crummy GFB Radial T/A street tires.

haha, still the stockers, with the stock TB. I had to up the pressure to 22psi though.

I have a 454 TB and 74# injectors (thanks to VA454), I need to get on , but have been so busy with other stuff, I haven't gotten a chance.

You did good picking up those injectors. I had to install my 61's and a new Walbro after being able to datalog the WB. Very lean. Ouch!! THAT lean. Still have to get the spring pressure up in the reg. Only can get to 18 psi. Oh well.........

I had to buy one of the TDS springs, to get enough adjustment, to get the pressure I am running. I maxed out about 17psi, with the stock spring.

full bolt ons 2 my knowledge is anything that doesnt come into contact with engine oil..full exhaust, gears, intake, suspension( shocks, LCA's, Torque arm, panhard rod, springs ) , alum driveshaft, stall, pulleys...

Engine: 1988 chevy pickup 350 TBI (rebuilt)
Transmission: 700r4- Bowtie overdrives
Axle/Gears: 2:73's
I got a rebuilt 350 30,000 miles on it, and a brand new tranny (700r4) from Bowtie overdrives.. had installed in late april, feels like yesterday.. but, I run 9.92sec in 1/8 mile, i CANT get the 65series tires to hook up at all.. Its very Much Bone stock, besides what i mentioned.. Oh yea, 14" Open air element, Thats the first mod you need to make!! LOL! I noticed a bit of diffrence, also lifted the injector pod 1/2", (For a bit More air flow).

Recently I Swapped the stock 7mm plug wires to Accel 8mm's.
New Rotor and Cap from BlueStreak? Blue something..
Coil- Nothing BIG nothing Stock..
PCV.. old one was jammed shut..

And i want to take off my Stock Cat, and put a straight pipe on that, but still run my Super turbo muffler.. I want to hit at least high 8's by the end of the summer.. I am going to get shorty flow headers and mandrel Bent Exhaust.

I have Not reduced any weight, And speaking of weight i had a full tank of gas, which You need with 2:73 gears.. as all the guys and gals explained to me.. have 2 amps in rear, so theres a bit of weight there... And i Cant forget all my pepsi bottles , They add up....

I am guessing you have a L03 305 TBI Th700r4..
There was a 1989 camaro with the same thing you have, and she was running 11.4's in the 1/8.. I know she hit 11.4 like 3 times.. so id say your prob. around there right now.. maybe a little quicker. I did walk by and look under the hood while he was at the inspection, and it looked like it was from 1989, single snorkel air intake..center bolt heads, 7mm plug wires.. stock tb, old dist cap, looked alittle dirty.. like its been around awhile..

Oh yea, do you have A/C?

The biggest hurdle is going to be the computer tuning. Luckily for you, some of the duty experts on that subject live just inside Penn and Jersey.

With the right tuning I don't see why high 13's isn't probable. With nitrous you could easily be mid 13's. But like I said, tuning the chip is the only way to attain that.
