I blew my transmission and while I'm at it I thought that I could as well pull my engine to fix some details in my engine compartment (paint and redo some wiring). My plans eventually went out of control and I thought that I could propably get a cheap truck 350 tbi long block that would just bolt on to my current setup. I know that the injectors are bigger i L05, but is the ecm different? If s, could it work with my old chip? Is it possible to connect an ecm from a truck to a car wiring harness? I don't expect to make lots of horsepower with this swap, but I want to get some extra horses and a 350 would also be a platform for my future engine buildup.

I know I know, tuning is the key, but I am planning to swap to an aftermarket ecu anyways so I won't pay too much attention on stock equipment.

 

the ecm's are diff. but you could just put all the 305 stuff on the 350 and it will work.
