If you're running an intake adapter, can I see a picture of what kind of throttle cable bracket you're running?
I'm looking at this adapter with its countersunk holes wondering how I'm going to bolt up my throttle cable bracket.

Really, it is going to depend on the intake you are running. The bracket doesn't attach to the adaptor. On Wieand manifold, I had to hack apart the bracket, and attach it to the same bracket as the coil on the manifold. Here is a pick of the "modified" bracket. Because it is only attaching to the manifold at one point now, I also had to connect a bracke to the firewall. In my case, the brace runs from the top of the throttle bracket, and connects back to the firewall where the wiper motor attaches.

I'm using an Edelbrock Performer intake.
I still have my bracket from the carb. I wonder if I install studs in the driver's side, slip the bracket over that, and then bolt it down with washers and nuts like the carb bolted down, if the cable will be held correctly in a position that will operate the throttle properly.
I was hoping someone had another suggestion, though. This adapter came from Holley I think...but several manufacturers make them.
Attaching anything from my firewall to the engine would be a really bad idea in this application. My frame/cab/engine etc. flexes all over the place with the amount of suspension travel I have.
Grrrrrrrr.....

I run a Holley Projection adapter(nice piece as it is setup for a 2" TBI), it puts the linkage in the stock Q-Jet location. The factory brackets, cable, cruise linkage, etc, bolted right up. I had to bend the bracket slightly for the increased height of the high-rise aluminum intake.

my adapter(adjustable) i believe is an ededbrock. i suspect summit sells same unit under their packaging. after getting it where we liked we ran a couple pop rivets to make it "nonadjustable".

I have the adjustable edelbrock for Vortec heads. I think they make one for standard heads, too. The cruise cable does not fit in any of the holes.

I used the stock thirdgen bracket (bent a bit) with my edel vortec intake, but used the end and guts from a lokar hi-tech adjustable throttle cable with the stock sheath/cable housing to make it work. I also modded teh TV cable to get that to have the proper reach. The lokar is pretty flexible and made it easy to bolt up, but the housing they supply doesnt bolt up in the stock fashion. I dont know if this will be a possibility with the truck bracket or not.
