hi all i got my 1989 rs camaro on thursday fixed the sirce motor light and pulled the dry rot now i am looking to upgrade the motor the best i can with the 30 to 50 a week i can put in to the motor i am doing a complet tune up on her during my day off this week so what is next i want her to kill my bubys 1996 gt mustang could she do it now and i will be going for trak time my next friday or sat off so sugestions recomindations thanks yall

The best thing you can do for your car is like you mentioned above, make sure you give her a full out tune up. This means changes of spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, O2 sensors, TPS.
An auto 96 GT is about the race of a mildly stock LO3. 96 GTs don't put up much of a fight unless their modded.
For starters, I'd do you basic cat-back exhaust, gears make a hell of a difference, anything above 3.23s is enough, and go to any autoparts store and purchase an Edelbrock Open Element Air Cleaner. If you want to go overboard, I'd mentioned full exhaust from the headers back and some chip tune. If you do that you would be able to take your friend's GT mustang.
Look at the stickies above to give you a better idea of what to do.
