ticking help
Hi all my LO3 is making a ticking noise I think it is coming from the valve cover it is only on the driver side I took a piece of wood and felt across the valve cover and about where cylinder 2 is I can feel some thing hitting and only right before the pvc valve and about 1.5 inches toward the back of the car so I think it is a rocker arm that lost a push rod or maybe a lifter what is yall’s thoughts on it I will be pulling it on Tuesday when my grandfather is over so help please thanks in advance

It sounds like you have traced the problem down enough to start getting some tools out. I would remove the valve cover and inspect the valve train. I would check valve lash and inspect the rockers, pushrods, springs, retainers, and rocker nuts. Have you recently over-reved the motor? How many miles are on the motor? You could have a bend pushrod (common for a severe over-rev) or a broken valve spring.

I have the same ticking noise in the same spot on my motor. I figured it is an exhaust manifold leak
I have a stock 305 TBI V8 with 208,000 miles on the clock.
Where in cinci are you at ShiftyCapone?
