Huge Problem, Fuel, but no spark

Sorry it's me again (>;_<), I have a 1990 RS camaro, with 305 tbi top end setup,Bottomend 350 bore .60, but the computer is 1989. The problem has always been, it cranks "Turns over", but the injectors won't fire right up. If i spray some Starter Fluid, it fires straight up, but now. There's no spark from the coil, i tried a spare coil "still no spark".

The Fuel pump is sending fuel, but the injectors aren't pumping, and now there's no spark. I'm really stomp on this 1, what can cause the injectors not to work and what cause the coil not to have any fire?It had set a Code: 43 at 1 points, but that was because the distrubtor had turn, while i was driving.

The odds are it is either the ignition module or the distributor pickup coil.

RBob.

check the pink and white wire pair harness from the coil to the ditributor

while youre cranking it over jiggle the wires around at the plugs where they plug into the coil and distrib

they like to break inside the insulation and cause this problem on the tbi engines, see it happen all the time, same exact symptoms

the injectors wont inject if the coil doesnt fire

found that out the hard way

the wires are crappy quality

You were right on the money man, THANK YOU. The wire was brokon on the inside it runs like a champ, but sometimes i still have to spray starter fluid in it to get it to run.

yep,

but yeah you can get a new one of these wires from the parts counter at the dealer

id have to say its some kind of factory defect, crappy wire material or something they used, hmm

and this goes for virtually all the v6 and v8 tbi vehicles 87 to at least 92, cars- s-10s, c/k series(r/v series), vans, etc,

when troubleshooting you always suspect components before wiring, but in this case its the other way around

RBob was right to suspect components, but theres always an exception usually :P

good luck
