I have an 89 irocz and just put the edelbrock tbi intake on while replacing the intake i noticed that my distributer was all f-up so got the msd distributer. The car is bogging down when I get on the throttle it lasts like 3 seconds then it kicks in could this be a fuel issue, tps, or something I overlooked when installing the parts? another thing is the throttle is sticking when I first start it causeing it to idle high like around 1500. any help would be appreciated tried everything in my knowledge which isnt a lot but trying to keep away from local shops their sketchy.

What makes you think your distributor is messed up?

How did the car run before you swapped these parts? If it ran normal than there is a near 100% chance that you missed something during the swap.

Items missed that may be causing your problem.

-Improperly set timing; set timing with the EST unplugged to 0° to 4° advance) (assuming distributor is in correctly.
-Improperly cleaned heads and china wall causing internal vacuum leaks.
-Improperly routed vacuum lines (or lines left unhooked)

If I had to guess I would say that you didn't set the timing correctly.
Refer to the LT1 cam digest for proper intake manifold and distributor installation.

When you reinstalled it did you make sure to position it in the same spot as it was before it was removed? That will have the timing close enough for the motor to start but then you must set the timing after you remove/install the distributor. Did you set the timing with the EST unplugged?
