How much "better" is a Stage 2 Hypertech over the OEM chip?

Before I get a ton of answers saying "why buy Hypertech? Burn one!", I'd like to mention I already have the chip...it came with the car. I took it out because the emissions were way too high on NOx, and sure enough after I put the OEM chip in, ran some Guaranteed to Pass through the tank and unhooked the wire under the hood that brings the timing back to base timing, NOx fell from 2.60 whatever it is to 0.65! So something worked...

Anyway, with the OEM chip in, I have to admit it did "feel" a little less snappy...what I can't figure out is if that's a reality, or its just me. Is it worth it to put in 93 octane and run this chip I got for free, or does Hypertech suck so much, it makes no difference? Just curious if anyone actually has some answers on this one!

if it came free, I see no reason not to use it, except during emissions tests, if you have any.

it'll never beat home burning, but hell, drop 93 octane in and enjoy the free chip.

don't expect better gas mileage though.

I'd also look into a lower temp thermostat if you don't already have one, most of those are already setup for a 170-180 thermostat, it's 5 bucks or less at most places and couldn't hurt.

I've never used a hypertech chip myself, but I've seen some of their .bin files. They have modified spark tables, that's why they require the 93 octane gas. So, based on that, yeah, I think you'd notice more "snap" with it. But whether it's worth it or not will have to be based on your preference. I'd use it ...but I'd kill for 2 horsepower.
