1988 5.0 TBI - No power to injectors
1988 5.0 TBI - No power to injectors
1988 Camaro 5.0 tbi. When the injectors do put out fuel and it does start it will run about 30 seconds before the injectors cut out completely. Fuel pressure is about 11psi from a relatively new fuel pump. New fuel filter (with arrow in right direction). I read somewhere to carefully check for wear on the four wires coming out from behind the distributor as they send the signal to the injectors to pulsate fuel (is this true?). Feel like it's either the ECM or a bad ground on something. Got a code-reader and it's not putting off any codes. If this thing isn't running by Monday I'm going to push it into a tree!
i had a similar prob a few years back.....for a couple off weeks this went on sometimes it wouldnt start, i would try for hours and nothing, " injectors werent spraying," i had fuel pressure, while the motor cranked, and sometimes it would start right up, run for 10 minutes or so and die, and it wouldn't start again for days, turned out it was the "ignition module" in the distributor cap, when it was hot it would fail, sometimes i would crank it for 30 minutes and nothing then go back 1 minute later crank it and it would start right up then die later on, and refuse to start again. once the ignition mudule goes out it tells the ecm theres no spark, or something like that, and if it doesnt since a spark it won't fire the injectors. it did seem like the only time i got it to run was when i would "F" with the wires on the back of the distributor, the ones that go to the ignition mudule
