All 305 heads are the same!!! L-69 and LG-4 are totally the same in flow , valve size and chamber size.

Brian is right, but thats only limited to L69's, LG4s, and EARLY Lb9s
the casting you want is a #416 I got mine off an 86 LB9, they are great heads but NEED porting the casting flash on them is horrible in the ports just doing that i can imagine a big increase in flow

U know when i cruiz the J yards ,
what vehicles to look for the heads in...can they be found in pre 87 trucks too?

they should be on just about every 305 from the early 80s to probably 87 at most, just look for the casting number that ends in #416, they are super common
and if I may make a suggestion, if i could go back and change one thing, i woulda saved up an extra few bux for a roller cam. Just something to think about for you
