open element questions

open element questions
hey guys, quick question for ya. its pretty basic so i'm sure you'll think i am an idiot. But, i already have a K&N air filter in my stock L03 air cleaner, the K&N open element looks like it is just a base, a K&N filter and a top. Is there a way i can just order a base and a top and use the filter i already have for an open element?

Nope, the stock size filter is several inches smaller in diameter, and also is about 1.5" shorter than the 14 x 3" for the open element.
