Vortec heads w/ LT4 "hot cam"

i have just about finished picking the parts for my 350 swap. i have decided to use the vortec heads w/ the "LT4 hot cam" kit.

will the spring from the kit fit the heads w/o any work on the heads.

TIA,
RS

I dont see why they wouldnt, what you need to be concerned about is the compressed clearance between the spring retainer and the valve seal. That could be a problem but i think youll be allright, if not you can always have the heads machined or use different retainers. You probably wont have this problem though why not email SDPC and ask? Im sure someone has run that combo before
and good choice! i wanna see how it runs!

you better call a technical #. I tried to run stock springs off an L05 on my vortecs and they didnt fit. Just a thought, try comp cams or a GMPP tech #

Stock I think the vortecs are rated for .470 lift. The hot cam does .525 I think.

I have that exact combo. You will have to change springs. I went to 2.02 and 1.60 valves and GMPP LT4 springs. It costs more to have the heads machined, but it is well worth it.
