Eric,
I wanted to ask you about your posi. Which unit did you get? I see you have 3.42 gears and just wondered if you got the 2 series one or the 3 series one. I want one but are unsure which one to get since I still have the 2 series carrier with 3.73's. HArd to install?

Eric

I was shocked to see that companies sold a taillight
set for a rustang! Since when do they have taillights????

I got mine form slp for $99. It is the take off unit from Zexel. Its a 3 sereis and is used but only for about 10 miles. Mine came in great shape and for $99 you end up saving about 200 to 300 dollars.

How did you remove your speed limiter. Is there anyway to do it besides what the tech article said. Sounds complicated.

I bought mine used and it was a carrier 3 posi unit. I had to get rid of my 3:73's because they were made for a carrier 2 unit (my stock unit I had in at the time aka Peg-leg rear) so I had to sell the 3:73's. I didn't install my gears or posi. With gears you have to make sure they are lined up perfectly or you can mess things up I guess. So thats what I did, I just gave them to a well-known mechanic in my county and he put them in for 175.00 bucks. As for the speedo gear, I took mine to this local place called specmo. They calibrated it for me and gave me a new speedo gear to put in.

there is a much simpler way to remove the speed limiter. I have 3.73 rear. All you need to do is get a new chip that has that programming removed. i got one from FAST CHIP. just make sure you tell them to remove the limiter(i believe this is automatic if you get the stage 2 chip) plus you'll get some performance gain.

Keep in mind HYPERTECH chips DO NOT remove the speed limiter, so go with another company, and be sure to double check.
