first off let me say, you all seem to know your stuff! very cool. i have searched the web tons and can't find an answer to my question, which is: i am installing a 4.3 tbi from a 93 s10 2wd into my jeep, no i know this is not car related but i am hoping for some help from this knowledge base, i am not using the auto tranny that came with the truck, i am going to use a 4spd chevy truck tranny, so i guess the question is , what do i have to do to the pcm? i have cut all the wires going to the transmission. any help would be greatly appreciated, and keep up the good work, sounds like some realy cool mods going on, and some great tech reading as well.
thanks again,
dave

Well if you chip the ECM you only have to chane one option bit and maybe change the timing/VE tables to reflect the higher loading on the engine at lower RPMs with the standard transmission.
where would i go to get a chip? it's not something i can do, and thanks for the quick response.

Off the top of my head, youll have to set bit 7 of $400F in the prom (location may vary from mask to mask). This will tell the PCM that a manual is in use, and itll skip all the auto code. Moates.net has the flash rom adapter and some basic prom burning equipment available. Should cost around $125 for the adaptor, flash chip, and economy programmer.
