IAC on while checking codes?

I also have this question in the electronics forum as well.Maybe I can get some help here too.I was trying to check for codes last night by doing the whole paper clip in the A and B ports last night and a strange thing happened. My IAC valve came on.It was just buzzing like crazy,I don't think this is normal.Do you guys think I might have a short somewhere?

It is normal. With key-on, engine-off, AB shorted, the IAC is constantly commanded closed. this is toward 0 steps.

What the hell is a quad driver module?
Isee that is says that it could be a fault in the fump pump relay or the pump itself,How do I go about checking for this?

Fuel pump relay failure. At key-on the pump should run for 2 seconds. This is via the FP relay that is switched on by the ECM. First listen for the pump to come on when the key is turned on (key needs to be off for 5 seconds before each key-on test).

If the pump is running, it can still be the relay. The relay can be going bad and the FP voltage be low. The ECM will flag that as a bad relay.

First step, listen for the FP at key on. If no pump, then either ECM, wiring, or relay is bad.

If have pump, then voltage should be checked (or swap the relay for another one).
