TBI to MPFI done. 2000 miles & runs poor
Hey guys,
The Edelbrock MPFI on my new Vortec headed ram jet cammed 355 has 2000 miles on it best of 13.5 mpg. My biggest complaint is a warm engine rough idle, feels like a misfire, I assure you, the ignition system is twice overhauled even added a crane ignition box. Also @1700 rpm I get a strange miss in the engine which clears up @2000 rpm. I measured fp=42psi, injector resistance is 17.9 each. So is this a byproduct of trying to run MPFI from a TBI ecm $od mask? I read in other posts the injectors are wired to one driver, not in my app, Edelbrock instructed me to wire each injector wire to one bank each. Also a warm restart feels loaded up, flooded. I have the .bin if anyone thinks they can take a look and come up something. I'm ready to add another ecm to control the fueling and keep the other for the trans.

The rough idle is due to trying to run MPFI on a TBI style injector firing sequence with minimal changes.
The $OD code will support MPFI (the CPI 4.3), but the injector drivers are the limiting factor. After he "fixes" the PCM it will run much better.
