Distributor?

How exactly does our distributor work with TBI? Is it just by getting signal from the knock sensor and the tps or is it much more than that? If I went with a carbed setup would there be any way to make the existing distributor work?

i seem to recall a post about using the tbi computer as a timing comp and nothing else, if you're going carb you prob arent into doing the computer end of things so i would suggest using an mech/vacuum advance dissy. if you want to use the tbi comp for timing alone you allready have to buy all the same stuff you would use to tune the whole deal so, in my opinion its all computer or none at all.
