V6 TBI to V8 TBI

Hi All,

First post and sorry it's not 3rd gen related. It does however concern TBI. I have the chance to buy a 92 Astro Van with some front end damage. Looks mostly cosmetic but will probably require replacement of most of the front body panels. I figure while the front end is off I might as well throw a 350 in there right???

Anyone have any experience doing this kind of a swap??? I know the 350 will drop in place. I'm worried about the computer and sensor hookups. I think it should be pretty much a drop in but I'm concerned there is something that I;m not thinking off.

Suggestions, comments, advice welcomed

there is actually a member on the thirdgen msg boards that has done this he goes by "ZZ3Astro" yep, he put a ZZ3 in an astro van

among the things i remember, he used second gen headers, and he had to drop the front subframe to change the engine

might want to try and get in contact with him

Thanks Pablo. I think I have done that already. THe swap of actually placing the engine seems pretty straight forward. JTR engine mounts is the way I'm leaning right now.

Was just hoping for someone with a little more knowledge of the V6 to V8 TBI part of the swap.

thats pretty straight forward too, if you have a 7747 ecm youll need to change to a v8 calpack, and eprom, not sure i think the plugs for the ignition module are the same too and everything

I'm hoping it's as easy as it seems. If I can latch onto the van for $1k or less I think I will try and do this.
